3 REASONS TO EAT MORE PINEAPPLES
I can probably speak for a whole lot of people when I say pineapples are one of my favourite fruits, sweet, juicy & super refreshing. But did you know that pineapples also packs some amazing health benefits so here's three reasons to sneak more pineapple into your diet.
1: VITAMIN C
Pineapples are packed full of vitamin C which doesn’t just boost your immune system you know, it also helps to support the repair & growth of tissue around the body. Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant which protects your cells from premature ageing as well as helping to prevent illnesses like cancer & heart disease. It may also have an effect on weight loss & exercise as a study found that people who weren’t getting enough vitamin c each day burnt 25% less calories during their workouts.

Pineapples contain the mineral manganese which along with vitamin C is used by the body to produce collagen in the skin which helps prevent the apearance of wrinkles & sagging.
Manganese is also an antioxidant which protects your skin cells from sun damage caused by UV rays making pineapples even more important durning summer months.
3: GOOD DIGESTION
If you’ve ever tried adding pineapple to gelatine you’ll know that it just doesn’t work, it won’t stay solid. This is due to pineapple containing an enzyme called bromelain which breaks down the gelatin preventing it from setting. Eating pineapple with or after your meal may help to breakdown & digest proteins more easily, reducing bloating & indigestion. Pineapple also contains fibre which helps to promote good digestion & keep everything moving as it should in that department.
